Jennifer Murray
Jennifer Murray has never been particularly interested in doing things the way they have always been done.
When she founded JMC in 2016, she had a clear vision: to build the kind of HR consulting firm she believed businesses deserved. One that was strategic but approachable, experienced but never rigid, and genuinely invested in the people behind every organization. What began with Jennifer, a laptop, and a deep belief in doing HR differently has grown into one of Atlantic Canada’s leading human resources consulting firms.
With more than 20 years of HR experience, Jennifer works closely with business owners, executives, leadership teams, and Boards to navigate complex people challenges and make confident decisions about what comes next. Her expertise spans executive recruitment, organizational development, succession planning, compensation strategy, leadership development, performance management, change management, strategic HR planning, and executive coaching.
Jennifer is especially skilled at seeing the bigger picture. She can quickly identify what is holding an organization back, connect the dots others may not see, and turn big ideas into practical, achievable plans. Clients trust her because she is candid, energetic, and deeply invested in their success. She tells people what they need to hear, keeps the work moving forward, and never loses sight of the people affected by the decisions being made.
Before launching JMC, Jennifer built her career across manufacturing, food production, mining, finance, government, call centres, and professional services. She spent 12 years in manufacturing environments and six years with KBRS, further developing her expertise in executive search and strategic talent advisory. That breadth of experience means there are very few workplace challenges she has not encountered, and even fewer that intimidate her.
Inside JMC, Jennifer is the ideas person, the momentum builder, and the one most likely to ask, “What if we tried this?” She has built a team of HR consultants who share her commitment to exceptional client service, practical solutions, and HR that works in the real world.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University and has held the Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation since 2003. She also holds certifications in compensation consulting, coaching, and strategic leadership.
Originally from Miramichi, New Brunswick, Jennifer approaches life much like she approaches business: with curiosity, enthusiasm, and very little interest in sitting still. When she is not dreaming up JMC’s next big idea, you will likely find her travelling, skiing, surfing, or planning her family’s next adventure.
